You Really Can Feel Better!
I first came to Nancy with a chronically tight neck that was causing shooting pain down my shoulder blade and up into my head. My discomfort was so intense that just shaking somebody's hand would send pain up into my head. In addition, I suffered from muscle fatigue in my neck and upper back that would get worse as the day progressed. I also suffered from an ongoing pain in my upper stomach on the left side. I had already undergone numerous tests for this abdominal pain and was diagnosed with acid reflux and prescribed antacids. This particular pain would be at its worst when I would sit or drive for long lengths of time.
The Structural Bodywork that Nancy does is unlike any other treatment I have ever had. Some of it is very intense and you have to be prepared at times for very deep pressure. Nancy evaluated my posture to see which muscles were pulling my body into specific patterns and causing what she described as dysfunction of the muscles. She also explained that it is about my whole body and not just where I was feeling the pain. She wanted to address the cause not the symptoms. Through the cranial work she did and the deep tissue structural bodywork the pain that I felt going into my head went away. Thanks to the abdominal work Nancy did the pain in my stomach went away as well and I no longer have a need to take antacids every day.
Nancy also addressed changes I needed to make to my work area at the office as I sit at my desk for much of the day. I have taken her advice and made the necessary modifications and I no longer suffer from the neck and upper back fatigue that I used to get. I am very impressed with the results and would highly recommend Nancy and this form of therapy.

When I first moved to Miami a year ago, my physical problems worsened immediately because of continual driving, humidity, and the constant low- pressure systems. I have degenerative disc disease, stenosis, and severe arthritis, all concentrated in the neck and which leave me with severe limitation. Any exercise causes pain with severe muscle spasms, pressure in the head, and a vice-like feeling from the base of my skull through my shoulders. When Medicare cut my physical therapy off after a few sessions, I was in deep trouble. I could not think straight, concentrate, play with my grandchildren,
do housework, exercise without pain and pressure or even turn my head much.
Then I found Nancy Krau, the exact expert I needed.
First, she listened and questioned me fully about other problems with my physical health that I had not thought to mention; then she took a serious look at my body. My right shoulder was turned inward, my right knee was bent and I could not straighten it, one hip was higher than the other, my muscle spams were unrelenting, and my neck movements severely limited. I had not even noticed the items beyond
those involving my neck. As she proceeded to work on me, she explained each technique and how and why it should work to give me relief:
cranio-structural integration, myofascial release, energy release, the connection of all the body tissues and how the connections were influencing my body alignment. This was a true medical massage I realized with real muscle spam release and correction of my neck limitations because of the cranial work (face, mouth, entire head) as well as the muscle work, release of adhesions and any scar tissue (from two surgeries), as well as the release of additional tightness points she found on my body and which influenced the postural causes of shoulder, hip, and knee mis-alignments.
She works deeply at times, so be ready for that, but it works. Each session is dependent on your progress and specific complaints along with the plan she has determined for your long-range goals. She keeps a weekly chart so she can tell what is working and what additional approaches need to be applied. She continually updates her knowledge through courses and is always in contact with other Therapists for additional input.
Nancy understands what my body needs and spends a full hour and a half with me treating causes, not symptoms. I leave with ”a lightness" that I have not felt for years. I craved the chance to be an active senior. Now I can do that.

I am 11 years old and I have Scoliosis. My mom brought me to Nancy two years ago when I was 9. Nancy told my mom that she could help me with my scoliosis, and hopefully keep me from having to wear a back brace. Before I started coming to Nancy for Structural Bodywork my back used to hurt. When I walked my knees would hit each other, and I always had to keep one leg bent when standing because I could feel how one hip was higher than the other. I was going to the scoliosis doctor every 3-4 months for x-rays to see if my curve had gotten worse. He said if my curve got to be more than 25 degrees I would have to start wearing a back brace. Nancy has been measuring my height for the last 2 years and says I've grown over 2 inches. My curve has not gotten worse and I have not had to wear a brace. My back no longer hurts me from the scoliosis and I can stand with both legs straight and my knees don't hit. I still get to do all my activities, including being on a competitive jump rope team. The doctor only wants to see me every 6 months now because I have been doing okay, and my curve has not gotten worse.
I know I will have to keep seeing Nancy until I stop growing but that's okay because I know she is really helping me. My mom stills calls it massage but I tell everyone it's different. I tell them it's called Structural Bodywork.

SET gave me my life back! For ten months I suffered very painful and debilitating leg pain in both legs due to sciatica. The cause was from stenosis and herniated discs at levels L4 and L5. I couldn't stand or walk for more than 10 minutes before the aching and pain required me to sit to relieve the pressure, pain and tingling in my legs and feet.
My SET Therapist, Nancy Krau, was highly knowledgeable and meticulous in her diagnostic skills and treating me using the prescribed protocols she was trained in.
It took 10 weeks of perseverance on my part. I wanted to give up several times, thinking it wasn't going to help me, but Nancy was so strong in her beliefs that this treatment could work that she convinced me to continue and have faith that the SET Treatment would work. She kept reminding me that this was a process, that takes time. And sure enough the pain started leaving my legs the same way it started, as if it was in reverse motion. I can't describe the happiness I felt when I could walk again for 30 minutes at a time without having to stop for a rest! Gradually, my normal activities became Normal again. I didn't feel like a 90 year old.
I would be happy to be a spokes person for your Company because I can truly attest to the Amazing Treatment that I see actually relieved my sciatica. The only other treatment is surgery, and that is never a good and permanent solution. To me, this treatment is like magic!
Thank you for all the years you put into mastering this technique to help people with pain.

I am an opened-minded scientist, who believes that complementary and alternative therapies may be valuable adjuncts to medical therapeutic regimens. SET is a Therapeutic practice that is beneficial and should receive serious consideration for a number of conditions. I benefited greatly from SET. I was suffering from widespread muscular skeletal pain (neck, lower back, hips, elbows). In 3 months after SET Treatments I was dramatically improved and in 1-2 months later the pain was gone. I recommend it to all my family and any others complaining of aches & pains in joints and muscles.

I have had Lupus for 46 years. I have put myself in Nancy's hands for many years now and only good things have come from that. Last week we did the core distortion cranial releases and when I stood up I did not need to hold on to anything and my balance and gate were stable. I felt stronger and more in charge of my body. I even walked around our seven acre property with my family that night I would recommend this to all of you out there .....

I was in a car accident over the summer and sustained whiplash involving neck and back. I also have MS. My reason for getting SET was to target my whiplash issues involving pain, limited head movement, pain along back, and muscle spasms. In Short, I can now move my head in all directions and without pain, I do not have the muscle spasm that I was having in my shoulders and lower back. Treatment has enabled me to do the things I need to do including driving -which I couldn't do for almost 2 months
Another interesting aspect of the treatment has not only addressed issues from the accident, but is helping my MS. The constant sensation of burning feet has significantly lessened, my legs rarely have the spasms at night, my feet are feeling more grounded- helping me walk better, there are days where I have very little or no (neurological) pain - which is something I've lived with for years, and I can feel my body more upright.
As both issues are still being addressed, I am so impressed with SET -with the results and time frame. I am really looking forward to what is yet to come!
Thank you Nancy :)

I have a genetic arthritic condition which tends to induce poor posture. I am also a runner which introduces other problems from time to time. I went to Nancy for a course of therapy to help some mild right knee pain and to help with some of the pain and muscle spasms from the arthritis. SET therapy is an interesting combination of massage and accupressure-type manipulations to push or pull the body into better alignment. There are times when it feels like Nancy is trying to move things that really don't want to be moved but there is no lasting pain or soreness. Some of the postural changes are immediate and dramatic. My knee pain has reduced dramatically and I am more aware of my posture, even feeling an internal drive to correct the poor posture of the past. SET is a process that takes some time and commitment but it is worth it in the end; I recommend it to many patients with chronic pain.
